Emergency Plan Information

Dear Parents and Guardians,
This letter is to keep you abreast of the many things we do at North Warren Regional School to keep students and staff safe, healthy, and secure.
The North Warren Regional School district has developed appropriate emergency and safety procedures in conjunction with local authorities. We have a Safety Committee that meets three times a year and is made up of teachers, administrators, staff, local Law Enforcement, and Emergency Responders who help us coordinate and improve our response .
The purpose of the emergency and safety procedures is to protect life and property in emergencies by coordinating response activities of school/facility and local volunteer entities to ensure their optimum use. It provides for actions to be taken to prepare, respond, and recover from the effects of an emergency. Our emergency procedures address a variety of circumstances and are reviewed annually by our Safety Committee. Our automatic calling system would be used to alert parents of any specific directions in the event of a real incident or threat.
All of our staff has been issued Crisis Manuals that were designed with a focus on our community. The staff has been trained and the entire school practices the following drills and procedures; bi-monthly fire drills, bi-annual bus evacuation drills, whole school evacuation drills, lockdown drills and active shooter drills.
In addition to these activities, we have continually worked at making our school more secure by providing the resources to make our building as safe as it can be. Some of these safety and wellness features are;
• Security personnel to monitor the locked door at the front of the building
• Security cameras
• New lockable fire proof doors for our large occupancy rooms
• Creation of Crisis tool kits
• New Student Code of Conduct
It is absolutely imperative that your emergency card at school be kept current and accurate. It is the primary document used to locate you or the people you've designated to pick up your child. Your child will NOT be released to anyone who is not on this emergency card.
