NJ Family Care

This FLYER, in English and Spanish provides important information about NJ Family Care.

The Department of Human Services is mailing easy-to-complete applications for NJ FamilyCare to parents who indicated on their 2009 NJ 1040 tax return that they had an uninsured child in their home. As you know, NJ FamilyCare is free or low-cost health insurance for uninsured children and some low-income parents. Children with health coverage are more likely to get the preventative care they need to stay healthy and are ready to learn.

The Express Lane Applications are being mailed statewide in batches of 9,000 per week until all the families are contacted. The state did a similar mailing last year and with your help thousands of children were enrolled in NJ FamilyCare. We need your help again this year!

Parents should look for a yellow envelope marked, NJ FAMILYCARE EXPRESS LANE APPLICATION FOR HEALTH INSURANCE ENCLOSED, complete the application, and return it to NJ FamilyCare.

Applications are printed in both English and Spanish. The state also has a translation service and materials available in 13 additional languages. Information provided to NJ Family Care is used only to enroll children. For help, call 1-800-701-0710, or visit www.njfamilycare.org.

With the recession hitting New Jersey families hard, smart ideas to meet their needs are more important now than ever. If everybody helps, together we can do a lot to make this effort a win for New Jersey kids. The Association for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ), is working with other organizations like the Mountainside Health Foundation to assist the state in its outreach. ACNJ is a leading research and advocacy group on children in New Jersey. Parents can also contact ACNJ at 973-643-3876 or njfamilycare@acnj.org for help completing NJ FamilyCare applications.
