Greetings Class of 2024!
I hope this communication finds you well and enjoying the final days of your time at North Warren. If you have any questions about graduation day, please do not hesitate to ask!
Graduation Details
We know you want to graduate outside on the stadium field and we will do our very best to make that happen! Since weather data indicates that rain in June is more likely to occur in the afternoon or early evening, our morning start time reduces the risk of needing to move the ceremony inside because of rain. It also allows us to adjust the start time of graduation if weather presents an issue.
We will monitor the weather forecast closely in the days leading up to graduation and communicate with you frequently if it looks like we will need to change the ceremony in any way. With that said, please plan for the graduation ceremony to start promptly at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 13th. Seniors should report to the high school auditorium no later than 9:30 AM.
If possible, we encourage seniors to carpool or be dropped off at school to alleviate parking congestion after graduation.
TICKETS – OUTDOOR CEREMONY
Each student will receive 6 tickets for the graduation ceremony. These tickets are needed for seating on the bleachers. The bleachers are ADA compliant and will accommodate guests who require wheelchair access. The first row will be designated for our guests who are in wheelchairs and those who are unable to climb stairs. In order to accommodate as many people as possible in the handicapped accessible seating, we ask that families limit the seating in this area to the person who requires it and one additional family member. Please be considerate of those who require this accommodation.
SEATING IS FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. We will not reserve seats or provide extra tickets to families. Any family member or friend who wishes to come to graduation, but does not have a ticket, may sit or stand along the fence. There is no limit to these viewing areas and all are welcome.
TICKETS IN THE EVENT OF AN INDOOR CEREMONY
In the event of inclement weather that requires us to move indoors, the ceremony will be held in the high school auditorium and live-streamed in the gymnasium. Because of limited seating, only guests with tickets will be admitted to the auditorium. Any guests without a ticket will be directed to the gymnasium for the live-stream. SEATING IS FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.
LIVE STREAM OF CEREMONY
The ceremony will be live streamed from North Warren’s YouTube channel. The link to the stream will be published on North Warren’s website, and Facebook page about 15-30 minutes before the ceremony starts.
PARKING ON GRADUATION DAY
Spectators will park in the back lots by the stadium for an outdoor ceremony. If the ceremony must be moved indoors, spectators will park in the front of the school. Security staff will be on hand to assist.
Spectators will not be permitted to park on campus until 9:30 AM.
Students in grades 7 -11
Thursday, June 13th is a school day for students in grades 7 – 11. Our middle school students will attend classes and participate in activities, including the livestream of the graduation ceremony, in their classrooms. Students in grades 9 -11 will support the senior class by attending the outdoor ceremony.
Siblings of graduates may be excused from school to attend the graduation ceremony with their families. Please contact the main office with questions about attendance on graduation day.
Dismissal for students in grades 7 – 11 is at 12:15 PM on graduation day. We respectfully ask that guests attending the graduation ceremony exit campus in a timely manner to allow us to dismiss students safely.
