Fire Drills

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the N.J. Division of Fire Safety, in conjunction with the N.J. Dept. of Education’s Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning issued a directive last week in regard to conducting modified fire drills in all N.J. schools. This is a two phase plan and Phase I was conducted for one cohort today. Another will be conducted at a later date for the remaining cohort.

Phase I consisted of verbally instructing the staff and students on the procedures under the present circumstances. The classes were then instructed where to evacuate during an actual fire emergency. Social distancing was stressed and the drill went well and was without incident.

Phase II will be conducted at a later date according to the directives of both State Agencies.

Any questions can be directed to the Security Office at extension 1115.
