Board Update: Shared Superintendent Services
Dear North Warren Community,
I would like to share an important update regarding an opportunity for collaboration between North Warren Regional and the Blairstown Elementary School District.
The North Warren Regional Board of Education, together with the Blairstown Elementary School Board of Education, is currently working toward the approval of a shared-services agreement for the position of Superintendent of Schools.
The goal of this partnership is simple: to maximize the resources available to both districts while continuing to provide the very best educational experience for our students and community. Just as importantly, I recognize the responsibility that comes with being good stewards of taxpayer dollars and the importance of continually looking for thoughtful and responsible ways to operate more efficiently.
While both districts will continue to maintain their own identities, Boards of Education, programs, and individual needs, sharing superintendent services provides an opportunity for greater collaboration and alignment. With so many Blairstown students ultimately becoming North Warren students, I believe there is tremendous value in strengthening the connection between the two districts and creating greater continuity throughout their educational journey.
I also recognize that North Warren has experienced a significant amount of change. I understand that change can bring questions and uncertainty, and I do not take that lightly. I believe moments of change also provide an opportunity to reflect, grow, and thoughtfully consider how North Warren can continue moving forward in a positive direction.
This proposed partnership is an opportunity to look at how the two districts can work smarter together, share resources where appropriate, identify efficiencies, strengthen communication, and continue investing in the programs and opportunities that matter most to our students.
Serving as President of the North Warren Regional Board of Education is a responsibility I take very seriously. I am incredibly proud of the positive direction of North Warren and grateful for the dedication of our staff, administration, families, students, and community. Every decision that comes before the Board requires careful consideration of educational excellence, fiscal responsibility, and what will best serve our students and community for years to come.
I am excited about the possibilities this partnership can create and remain committed to keeping our community informed as the approval process moves forward. Most importantly, I look forward to continuing to build upon the positive momentum at North Warren and ensuring our students remain at the heart of every decision.
Sincerely,
Taylor Casey
President
North Warren Regional Board of Education
